Focusing and Concentrating
If you followed the instruction, here and in the video, there is a good chance that you never saw the gorilla. If so, then you probably watched the video again and you can't understand how you missed it the first time. If you did see the gorilla the first time, you probably pay better attention to your surrounding than most (or you are familiar with these tricks and were expecting something).
So what is the point? The point is that, as the old saying goes, we miss the forest for the trees. By that I mean that when we concentrate on one thing and focus very strongly on one thing in our vision, we often miss other things that are happening around it. This is especially true when it comes to spiritual things.
The spiritual world is not always entirely invisible, entirely hidden, as many believe. We may not be able to look directly at it like we look at material things, but it is possible to see some of it, or at least some of it's effects that are not yet material. A good example is those people who can see auras (or energy bodies, if you prefer). It doesn't work for everyone, but if you want to see auras, you can't focus your eyes on the material object. That is how you block out everything else. Instead, look toward the person, dog, tree, or whatever life form you are trying to view, but do not focus your eyes on them. Let your vision become unfocused, and look around the edges. You may not see colors as some psychics do, but you will probably be able to see a kind of field around the life form. It will probably be clear, but somehow lighter than the surrounding area. You can even do this with supposedly non-living things like airplanes or cars. I've noticed, for example, that both airplanes and birds in flight seem to be surrounded by an egg-shaped field.
Whether it be physical or spiritual though, the fact is we miss many things when we insist on constantly concentrating and focusing on one thing. Don't focus when you don't need to. Relax your eyes and let them become unfocused. Not only will you start noticing things you didn't see before, you will also be relieving eye strain by doing this.
