On Scientific and Religious Dogma
If all the major religions started looking at science with an non-prejudice eye, and really considering the truth of what the scientists have to say, then science would be obligated to show the same courtesy to religion, wouldn't they? And they certainly don't want that! Why we could end up with a world where the very conservative churches and very materialistic scientists would both have to give up there most cherished dogma in search of actual truth! Wouldn't that be terrible!
That may sound like a fantasy world to many, but it actually isn't far from what real spiritual schools are teaching. A true spiritual school is always interested in seeking the truth, no matter what it may be, and they aren't afraid to learn that something they thought was true, is not. They are willing to adjust their teachings as new truths are revealed. Also, they are not afraid of science and the discoveries of the scientists. They simply believe that the knowledge gained by the scientists is, for the most part, limited to the physical world. There is also spiritual worlds, or dimensions if you prefer, where the laws of science are very different than in the material world. It isn't that spiritual planes have no science, it is that the science there is different, so you can't expect the rules of the physical planes to work there as well. Likewise, you can't expect to study and measure the spiritual using the tools that are designed to study the physical. You need instruments and methodologies that are appropriate for the spiritual planes and the laws that apply there.
Unlike many churches though, spiritual schools are willing to work with science to study the most important parts of the universe that they have largely ignored.
