Everything Wants to Become

There is a part of every living thing that wants to become itself—the tadpole into the frog, the crysalis into the butterfly, the damaged human being into a whole one. That is spirituality.” ~Ellen Bass

An acorn doesn't grow into an oak tree simply because it is in it's DNA. It is also because the acorn has the spirit of a tree encouraging the acorn on that path much like a mold shaping Jello. The same with the frog, the butterfly, and everything else.

Humans are not much different. We have two spirits or spirit bodies. The lower spirit is simply shaping our physical body much like that oak tree. The higher spirit though is more concerned with the development of our true self, our original self, which is pure spirit.

One of the major reasons our world is so messed up today is because so many people are trying to avoid that simple truth. They are either atheists who don't think there is anything spiritual at all and the physical universe just sprang into existence from nothing (kind of like believing you could put an empty bag in your microwave, hit the popcorn button, and get a full bag of popcorn) or materialists who believe that matter is an improvement over spirit and there is no reason therefore for spiritual development. Of course, most people don't really thing about it at all, at least not to any significant degree. They don't consciously decide that they will not develop there spiritual body and soul, they simply don't think about it. The result is people who always feel there is something missing from their lives.

So those of us who have awakened to the truth, at least to some degree, owe it to our fellow man and to our world, to help others learn the truth as well. They may laugh at you, they may ignore you, but a few will listen and that is worth the effort.
