They talk about the number one being symbolic of unity, God, and our recognition of ourselves as one, as connected. And I thing they are correct in believing that this number is significant as a spiritual number. But there are some problems with expecting that some unusual spiritual event is going to happen today.

    First, today is 11:11:11 on our calendar, but our calendar is not the only calendar in use today. The Chinese use a different calendar on which today is not 11:11:11. The Jewish people also use a different calendar on which today is not 11:11:11. And I'm sure there are other calendars in use. Also, even if, for some reason, we accept that our calendar is the true sacred calendar that was created by holy priests (as were those other calendars, of course), that assumes that the calendar as it exists today is unchanged from the original, which we know is not true. The calendar has been altered on a number of occasions by politicians, mostly Roman Emperors, for their own purposes that were not spiritual or religious. We know, for example, that when Caesar Augustus took power, he was jealous that Julius Caesar had his own month on the calendar (July), so he instructed the priests to rename another month after him. They changed the name of another month to August, but Big A. was still not satisfied. August had only thirty days while July had thirty one, so he had the priests take a day from February, and add it to August. That's one change. Also, I don't know the story about when or how it happened, but if we just look at the name of the months, we will see that some other changes have happened. The names of the last four months are September, October, November, and December. Those names mean seventh month, eighth month, ninth month, and tenth month, but on the current calendar, they are actually the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth month. This tells us that either some months have been moved, or the start of the new year was moved, or both. So how do we even know that today is 11:11:11?

    Second, if the date 11:11:11 indicates a day on which something special will happen, where is the history of it doing so? This is not the first time that date has occurred. It happened in 1911, in 1811, in 1711, etc. And I have found nothing to indicate that anything unusual happened on those dates. So, if something unusual does happen today, it will be only because so many people expect it to. It is Veteran's Day in the U.S., but that is a different story entirely.
