Sadly, ignorance isn't limited to people in third world countries. Right here in the U. S. A. where there is certainly plenty of nutritional information available, many remain ignorant of it. As a result, they feed their kids things like a bologna sandwich on white bread because it's cheap. Yes, it is cheap, and for good reason: it provides very little nutrition while at the same time providing plenty of toxins that result in illnesses that end up costing a lot more than feeding the kids healthy food would have cost. That too is usually ignorance, though sometimes it's stupidity because some people are aware that junk food isn't good for the kids but they buy it because it's cheap (if you don't include the medical bills).

    In the world or spiritual growth, this is also true. It has been said that ignorance is the only sin, specifically ignorance of God. People who are ignorant of God, whether it is because they don't believe in God or because they belong to a false church teaching false ideas about God, when you are ignorant of God you cannot understand his plan for you, the people around you, and the planet as a whole. And if you don't understand what God's Plan is, than how can you work toward it's accomplishment? Obviously, you can't except by accident, so it is important for all of us to not just listen to preachers telling us what God wants, but instead to awaken our own spiritual facilities and communicate directly with God, the Angels and other Beings of Light that will feed that information into your spiritual mind, your soul, so you will know, at least on the spiritual level, what you need to do to aid God in His Divine Plan.
