Nine Dimensions and Creation
“It was Voluspa, the seeress, who spoke, 'Hear me, all hallowed beings. I know nine worlds, the nine spheers of the wonder World Tree, Yggdrasil... At the top of the World Tree is the eagle, scanning the world with his eagle eye. He is stationed to keep guard on all the nine worlds. At the root of the World Tree is a two-headed dragon, the worm of destruction, called Nidhogg.”1
This is part of a Norse creation myth. I find it interesting because we in Cosolargy talk about the total universe having nine major dimensions, the lower four being material and the upper five being spiritual. In the Norse myth, the lowest world is the home of the worm of destruction. In our teaching, the first (lowest) dimension is the great void, the place where nothing can exist. Very similar, but that shouldn't be too surprising. The ancients knew much more than most of us give them credit for. And the Norse myths are not the only ones. As the science of quantum physics increases our knowledge of the universe from a scientific perspective, more and more of the discoveries of this new science can be found in ancient religious, spiritual, and mythological writings. The language is different, naturally, because these ancients wrote from a spiritual point of view rather than a scientific one, but when you understand that, you can see that many recently discovered scientific ideas can be found in the ancient myths and other ancient writings from Egypt, Babylonia, Greece, Norse countries, and other parts of the world.
