It's Not Easy to Change

Do you think it is easy to change?
Ah, it is very hard to change and be different.
It means passing through the waters of oblivion.” ~D. H. Lawrence

In order to become something new, you must be willing to give up what you already are. In order to learn something that is truly new, you must be willing to forgot much of what you already know. This doesn't truly mean that you must become totally oblivious and have your mind erased like in some science fiction movie, it means you must let go of your egotistical attachments to long held beliefs in order to become open to new ones.

Such change is generally easy for small children, but not for adults trapped by manly firmly-held beliefs that become filters preventing anything new from entering your mind that does not conform to those beliefs. (That is why skeptics can never see proof of God, spirit, psychic abilities, etc. There filters block it out, then they say it doesn't exist.)

For us adults, it is more difficult, so we must do it gradually, a little at a time. Then, with God's help, we will soon be able to see the truth again. Of course, some spiritual truths cannot be understood by the mind, but only by the soul. That is why it so important to awaken the soul.
