Man and Animal
Many of us think that the behavior of animals is strange or humorous, but that is only because we tend to judge there behavior in comparison with our own. To do so doesn't really make sense. Animals are what they are and we should not expect them to behave as if they were human. We think it funny that a dog will sniff another dog's butt, but the dog relies far more on his sense of smell than we do. On the other hand, a dog would not look into another dog's eyes as we do, that would be an aggressive act to them. The animals are simply behaving according to there nature and really have little choice. We certainly cannot expect a rabbit to behave like a fish, so why would we expect any animal to behave like a human?
On the other side of that coin are the people who think that man is nothing more than an animal with delusions of grandeur and needs to get a grip. They think that we should behave more like the animals. But man has certain spiritual facilities beyond that of animals and that permits us to grow and to believe in a God and an afterlife. Since the earliest records, man has had some form of belief and some sort of religion. To believe this is coincidence and foolishness is to deny several thousand years of advancement that could simply not have happened with an ordinary animal.
