Spiritual Qualities of Metal:Lead
Lead is a dull and heavy metal. Lead is said to be a silent metal and so a good aid for meditation. People who are strong lead types are usually somewhat somber, gloomy people. They are probably pessimistic, conservative and like winter. They may be somewhat controlling and very possessive. They move slowly and resist change. They like dark clothes and music that is highly structure (no jazz!). They are often intolerant and hate being told what to do. They take things very seriously and dwell in the past. They are likely to work as bankers, accountants, or architects. They are unlikely to be artistic, creative, or spontaneous. In the past couple of decades, we have found that consuming even a rather small amount of lead can lead to brain damage so paints and some other products containing lead have been banned. On the other hand, lead does shield from damaging x-rays.
According to many legends, the ancient alchemists sought to turn lead into gold. Of course, those of us who have studied spiritual development techniques know that this was a ruse. The alchemists were actually trying to convert the leaden personality and consciousness of the materialistic person into the golden consciousness of the enlightened.
Gold, copper and tin can help leaden types become more balanced. Also getting them to wear bright colored clothes or jewelry sometimes.
