Random Thoughts 8-14-2011

So a republican finally admits that to them, corporations are people. They aren't likely to go the next step and admit that to them corporations are more important people than those nasty biological ones that get old, sick and loose their jobs and start whining for government help when they could just become CEOs of a corporate person and earn 10 or 20 million a year.

 

Today is a day for all the world to come together in peace. For just one day, forget our differences; political, physical, religious, whatever, and remember that we are all people with, rights, desires and goals and just because someone else's goals and desires don't match yours, doesn't make them inferior.

We really shouldn't be surprised at the financial turmoil happening in the world these days. While we can point to political problems and decisions as immediate causes, we shouldn't forget that, according to a number of prophecies, the failure of financial and political institutions is something to be expected in the End Times, which is now.

Some idiots in Florida stole a number of things including a GPS. The police traced the GPS to find the criminals and their stash of loot.

When stopped for a routine traffic violation, a guy tried to protect himself by giving a phony name. Unfortunately for him, it was the name of a wanted criminal.

A man in Maryland went up to the cashier in a convenience store and demanded money. Since the man didn't seem to have any weapon to back up his demand, the cashier refused. The crook then grabbed some bananas off the store shelf and started throwing them at the cashier. The cashier then pulled out a knife and chased the crook out of the store.

A cook in New York got arrested for stealing lobster tails and stuffing them down his pants.

A drug smuggler tried to bring cocaine into the country by mixing it with plaster and forming it into religious statues.

Neighbors of a guy in Florida had no complaints about him despite a general knowledge that he was a drug dealer. But they were outraged when, after he was arrested, it was found that, while he was making thousands a month selling drugs, he was also collecting $900 a month in food stamps.
