My own forerunner? How can that be possible? It is possible because the real you is an immortal being that existed long before your physical body came into being.

    If you accept the idea that you physical body evolved from apes and that you either have no spirit or your spirit was created by your body, then you can't understand this and you can't understand that the human race didn't suddenly appear on this planet two or three million years ago. We have been here since the beginning, the creation of the material universe, the “big bang”, but we just took on physical form a few million years ago. Yet remaining within us is our foundation, that non-physical being we devolved from.

    Our goal, in seeking spiritual development is to return ourselves to that ancient state of pure spirit and to help our friends, relatives, the whole planet to do the same. But that is still not the final goal. As Gibran says, your giant-self, that fully awakened, pure spiritual being, is itself a foundation to something even higher. So the ultimate goal is to go even beyond just awakening our spiritual self to reaching that stage where we become one of the Beings of Light like angels. To being an Ascended Master, an Avatar, a true servant of the true God and co-creator of the eternal worlds of spirit.
