Our Importance

In the sight of God and the unknown gods
most men don't matter at all, ant more than ants matter to men:
only the few, the very few, matter in the sight of God, and the living substantial gods.” ~D. H. Lawrence

In our egotism, we all like to believe that we are important to God, or important to someone if we don't believe in God, but are we really?
The rock that is a cornerstone of our house may be important to us, but the average rock sitting in a field, or on the side of a mountain, is not. The flowers in our garden are important to us, but we have no objection when acres of wildflowers are plowed and covered to make a parking lot for another mall. You can never have too many malls. The mosquito biting your hand is important to you, but are you really concerned on a continual basis for the average mosquito? I think not.
It is really not too much different for God. If we are doing his work, or at least give some indication that we have the potential to become one of his workers, than he has some concern for us, some interest. If we are indifferent to Him, than why should he be anything but indifferent to us? It is not like there is a shortage of humans and He is forced to make due with what is available.
And what of those who actively work against God and the greater good? Do you really think God is very concerned about them as humans? No, He isn't, no more than you are concerned about the poor dying cells of your body when a tumor or other diseased tissue is cut out by your doctor. God is concerned about all souls, of course, but not the human that soul is temporarily associated with unless that person is one of His soldiers.
So forget the idea that God is concerned about you and will forgive anything you do because he so desperately needs humans in heaven. It simply is not true. He will forgive when you are repentant and ready to face your karmic debt, but if you are not, then He wants nothing to do with you.
