In communicating with God, some of us expect that to be impossible, while others thing it should be as simple as communicating with their next-door neighbor. They thing that if they simply say what they want from God, God should answer and they should understand that answer. That makes almost as much sense as sending a letter to the President of the United States or the Queen of England and expecting a personal reply. If you have never sent such a letter, I can tell you that you will probably get a reply—from a computer. 
    God communicates with us in a number of ways. One way is through prophets and, if we are not spiritually developed, listening to prophets and the teachers trained by those prophets is often the best way to began communicating with God. Another way is through proxies, specifically angels. Angels can appear to certain worthy individuals and deliver to them a message from God. And finally, when you have developed your spirit and soul sufficiently, God will communicate with your soul. The thing is, on a conscious level you probably will not be aware that such communication is taking place. You have to learn to trust that it does and to allow those communications to guide you.
    Unfortunately, devils and demons can communicate through your subconscious mind and trick you into believing they are angels bringing a message from God. It is often very difficult to tell which is which. That is why it is always best to work with a spiritual school when you decide it is time to develop your spiritual self.
