Servants of God and Servants of Satan
It's a sad and somewhat amazing thing that there are so many people who can't tell the difference between serving God and serving Satan. Of course, Satan is the great deceiver, so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, yet the teachings of Jesus, Buddha and the others make it fairly obvious.
Most of us can tell that the members of the Westboro Baptist are very clearly following Satan and not God, but with many others, it is not so obvious. Satan almost always tells his followers they are serving God, but their actions and their results tell us who is serving God and who isn't.
Those who serve God strive to unite people, to make us see that in us which is the same regardless of what country we live in, what language we speak, or which house of worship we go to. Those who serve God try to eliminate barriers between us, whether they are physical or mental. It is the servants of God who got the Berlin wall tore down, for example. Those who serve God place emphasis on spiritual growth and development and don't engage in hero worship of those who have the fleeting gifts of fame and fortune.
Those who serve Satan, often unwittingly, are those who promote divisiveness. They are polarizing figures. They push the idea that people of one church, the one they belong to of course, is better than all the others. The push the idea that people from one country, their country, are better than everyone else and that other countries should follow their lead. They believe that there isn't enough to go around so they, being the important ones, should hoard. In short, they are constantly finding ways to separate “us” from “them” to maintain a constant state of tension and struggle, if not outright war.
