Live Life and Serve God

“In all creation, only man cowers and is afraid of life.
Only man is terrified of his own possible splendour and delight.
Only is man agonised in front of the necessity to be something better than he is, poor mental worm.” ~D. H. Lawrence

Not all humans are like that, of course. Some have egos so big that can't imagine the existence of any being greater than themselves and therefore refuse to even contemplate the possibility of a Supreme Being.
But there are many who are much as Lawrence describes them. They believe in God, but they don't believe in themselves enough to believe that God wants them to work with Him, not just sit back and watch. Or cower in a corner like a frightened animal. They can't believe that we are intended to be co-creators with God. They can't even accept God as He truly is, but have to try to bring him down to there level, and pray to humans, to prophets, rather than the God those prophets represented, which is not at all what the prophets intended. Nor is it what God desires.
We are supposed to be servants of God, yes, but servants who are more like employers. It is fine to get down on our knees before God, but we also need to get off our knees and work for God, work toward the completion of God's Plan for the world and the cosmos.
