Enlightenment in Ancient and Modern World
By Hrvoje P

Enlightenment today is a very famous concept. More and more people on a global scale are becoming interested in that concept and want to find out what enlightenment entails. When my interest in spirituality started to grow I still didn't really reflect on that word, or had any real interest to "become enlightened". It was a popular word to use and a popular concept, so it was a word I used in that context of popularity. The time has come when I began to take that word more seriously, reflecting on it and trying to find out what it really is, if such thing even exists.

That was when I decided that I will start applying spiritual teachings, after I finished a course that was written by mystic teacher Belzebuub. The course was called "Gnostic Wisdom" and it was about what enlightenment is, what one needs to do to achieve it, as well as about life, death, karma and some other things pertaining to existence. It was then when I got first concrete information on what enlightenment is. I was glad that those explanations were coming from someone for whom it was known publically that he achieved a concrete stage of enlightenment, rather then reading it in a book by someone who just write what he heard.

In that "Gnostic Wisdom" course, Belzebuub explained that enlightenment is a long process and requires a lot of hard work and complete dedication to that purpose. It is not a moment of realization that makes you enlightened, as it is commonly believed. According to him, one reaches enlightenment by practicing the 3 fundamental keys - elimination of negative inner states, alchemy and helping others spiritually.

By practicing those keys, one starts to walk along the spiritual path that is created and set by higher beings. It is a path of tests, hardships and spiritual rewards. It is an ancient path, known in many different cultures and religions. The Path is divided in three main stages known as mountains, and the first degree of enlightenment is attained when first mountain is finished. However the "ultimate" enlightenment, in its full strength and meaning of the word is reached when the entire Path is completed.

Belzebuub has been walking along that path for years, and has explained it to others who wish to walk along it. So the things I learned in that "Gnostic Wisdom" course serve as a map. A map set by someone who has gone through it.

Having also read other spiritual texts I realized that information about enlightenment is the same everywhere. Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Moses, Rumi, Kabir etc. etc., all those individuals who are known for being spiritually developed, have explained what enlightenment is in the same way. All of them have said that enlightenment is about achieving permanent peace, love, bliss. It is about reaching to the Highest, to the Ultimate reality, by inner purification and transformation.

So there is a universal meaning of that very popular concept. It is something very specific and concrete, and those who have reached it have told us and are still telling us that it is a potential that human beings can realize.
