Random Thoughts 3-13-2011

I was shocked to hear that there are an estimated ten to thirty million slaves in the world TODAY!
Most of them are not called slaves, but something more innocent sounding like “indentured servant” but when those “servants” work for generations and the debt never goes down, it's slavery.

The CNN Freedom Project's coverage of modern-day slavery may spur many readers and viewers to ask: How can I help?

Surprise! Surprise! Hockey players frequently hitting each other in the head is causing actual brain damage. Who would have guessed? I guess the assumption has been that, if your playing hockey, your melon probably has no seeds in it anyway (not my opinion folks. Don't blame the messenger).

So the latest spammer game to annoy bloggers is automatically posting comments to blogs that are full of links to external sites selling drugs, porn, etc. Apparently, the spammers are not aware that, on nearly all blogs nowadays, nobody sees that spam until the blog administrator approves it and they are not going to approve spam. So, if your a blogger, be on the lookout for comments that are very general so they can be attached to any post, some examples” “This is interesting story”, “You should consider putting video on your blog.”. When they get attached to blog entries that are two years old, it's a dead givaway. I guess the good news is the phony trackback spam seems to have stopped.

I have uploaded an update to my eBook on Amazon. Nothing major changed, I just corrected some typos. If you purchased the older version, you can download the update for free! One of the advantages of eBooks over printed ones.
