We Must be Conquerors

Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and other conquerors were successful partly because they were willing to do whatever was necessary to get the job done and they were not willing to quit when the first attempt failed.
For those of us who seek to be soldiers of God and enlightened individuals, we need the same attitude if we are to overcome the forces of darkness that aim to stop us and our own egos that fear they will loose power if they let our spiritual self surface. Of course, this is a very different kind of war, so we are not talking about sending thousands of soldiers off to fight and die for us while we get the glory and riches. In this war, we fight to save lives, not spend them, yet we must do it with the attitude that we would rather die than remain slaves of Satan. Only such a strong commitment can succeed. When we are alone though, it is difficult, if not impossible, to have such a strong commitment all the time.
Satan and his minions are happy to whisper doubts into our ears to convince us to give up. And, when they doesn't work, they will go further and make us ill, cause us to loose our job, have a serious accident, or other difficulties to bring more doubt into our heads. That is why it is always best to work as part of a group. Whether it be a spiritual school , a church , or other group devoted to spiritual development, we all need it to give us strength and support when we have moments of doubt and periods when we need to be pushed out of our complacency and back into action.
