The Effects of Solar Flares
We know that solar flares affect our atmosphere creating the aurora Borealis among other things. We know that those solar flares can cause interference with sensitive electronic equipment when the burst of energy and radiation reaches earth. Satellites, computers, cell phones, radar equipment, and other types of electronics can be damages, temporarily or permanently by these bursts or solar energy.
Those things can obviously have an indirect effect on people, but what about the direct effects? Can solar flares directly affect people like they do with electronics? Well the answer should be obvious if you simply think a little about how the human brain and body operates.
The brain is a very sophisticated, yet sensitive ELECTRONIC DEVICE. Everything that happens in the brain is the result of chemically stimulated electronic impulses flowing through the brain. Your memories, your motor skills, etc. are all stores and accessed electronically, somewhat like data on your computer's hard disk, but much more complicated. Further, your brain knows what is happening in your body and around you from electronic signals sent to it. When you touch something, nerves in your hand send an electric signal up the arm, to the spine, and finally to the brain. When you look at something, light triggers electric signals that travel your optic nerve to the brain where the signals are interpreted to give you sight. In the other direction, when you need to move, your brain sends signals out to the appropriate nerves and to the muscles to make the movement happen. You wouldn't pull your hand off the hot stove if the brain couldn't signal the muscles in your arm and hand. You couldn't close your eyes from a blinding light if your brain couldn't signal your eyelids. You couldn't run from a bear if your brain wasn't sending signals to the muscles in your legs and other parts of the body. And even when the brain is sending the signals, they have to be properly coordinated to get the correct movements. If the brain sends random or confused signals to those muscle legs, instead of running from the bear, you would just dance around him twitching uncontrollable, which might frighten the bear, but will most likely get you killed.
I think that is enough information on how electricity effects us to let you know that, yes, solar flairs can and do effect humans. And experts are starting to notice. A recent article in the Hartford Examiner explored the subject. It reported on studies that showed behavioral changes during the geomagnetic storms caused by solar flares. That is why it is important for all of us to learn how to handle this radiation so it will not harm us, or at least to minimize the harm while taking advantage of the improved spiritual radiation from the Sun of Righteousness that can aid our spiritual growth. The International Community of Christ and the Jamilian University can provide such instruction, and more.
