The camel is symbolic of moderation, conservation and endurance since it can go for long periods without food or water. In ancient times, it was also symbolic of wealth and social status. It is a symbol of stamina and patience. It is symbolic of someone who can commit to working hard and long to achieve goals. Camels are also symbols of humility, obedience, and a willingness to serve. Dreaming of camels likely means that with patience and persistence, you will achieve your goals. Camels are used to travel long distances in the desert, so are also symbolic of a journey or someone taking a long journey such as the journey of spiritual awakening and enlightenment. 
    One apparently symbolic use of camel in the Bible is in the phrase “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:24). Many have questioned “why a camel” but most scholars now believe this was a mistranslation and it should read “rope” instead of camel.

    The symbology of camel hair, specifically a camel hair robe, is related to the symbology of the camel, but slightly different. A camel hair robe is said to be symbolic of obedience to a higher calling, even when doing so is physically, mentally and socially uncomfortable. It symbolizes one who endures hardship to achieve enlightenment. John the Baptist wore a camel's hair robe which, according to one writer, symbolized the commandments and laws of God. Other writers say this garb was to identify him as a prophet since a camel's hair robe was worn by some old testament prophets.
