What Would Jesus Say
Certain Christians and Christian churches are fond of saying “what would Jesus do?”. They usually follow up by telling you what they would do which is very often not what Jesus would do. The Christians that are fond of this statement are often very prejudice and bigoted against gays, atheists and those who are members of other religions. Is that what Jesus did? Is that what he taught? No it isn't.
When the Magi arrived to honor him with the symbolic gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, they were not told “Go away you disgusting pagans. This is no place for someone who is not of the true faith, not of the chosen people.” I can think of several places in the Bible where Jesus criticizes certain Jewish sects or individuals for their hypocrisy, but I can't think of any where he criticizes anyone for not being a Jew. So what would Jesus do?
He would be tolerant of those who simply cannot understand the truth or are just not ready for it but He would be somewhat demanding of those who are capable and show a desire to learn the truth and awaken their immortal soul. He would push them to get the job done before it is too late. Besides the fact that these are the End Times, we as individuals have a very limited life span in the physical world. How limited, none of us knows, so we should never assume that we can put off spiritual development another ten or twenty years. We may not have that long. We need to do it now. Of course, we all have to advance at our own pace, but that doesn't mean it's OK to stand still.
