Random Thoughts 1-9-2011
But, before you jump to the conclusion that 2011 is going to be a very negative year, read what Swami Sri Atmananda has to say about it.
When I heard the news story this week about the study that showed eating fruits and vegetables increased your chance of having baby girls, I was reminded of a Chinese guy I worked with years ago who told me his father wouldn't eat vegetables because he believed eating vegetables would cause him to have girls instead of boys. I thought the guy was crazy (and, obviously, sexist) but now we find it may be true. I hope this wont result in people not eating their fruits and veggies because they want to have a boy. And I wonder what will happen if she eats her vegetables because she wants a girl and he doesn't because he wants a boy.
Another interesting news story this week said that a study found that those who exercise a lot will drink more alcohol than those who exercise moderately. Perhaps because they are using booze to kill the pain of sore muscles? Or maybe they just think they can get away with drinking a lot if they exercise a lot.
Jan 6th was Epiphany, the day Jesus was baptized and the Holy Spirit descended to Him. This used to be considered one of the most important religious holidays, perhaps even the most important. Whatever caused that to change, it needs to be fixed.
Wow! Now you can control your car from your smartphone or iPad. The hackers must be drooling already!
