Red Clover is used to feed cattle and other animals, but it is also recommended by herbalists for a variety of medical conditions. Red clover is used as an aid to resperation and to fight skin problems such as psoriasis. It is sometimes recommended to purify the blood and rid the body of excess water. It is sometimes used to treat cancer and whooping cough. It is also used for asthma and bronchitis. It is sometimes used for caughs, especially in children. Red Clover contains isoflavones which are an aid to problems associated with menopause such as hot flashes and osteoperosis. It is believed to help prevent prostate cancer and cancer in the uterus. Externally, it is used to treat mild burns, rashes and other skin conditions and irritations. It is also being used to fight high cholesterol and prostate enlargement.
