Finding Inspiration
Sometimes we need some inspiration to help us get busy and work on our spiritual growth. Different people find inspiration in different places. Some get it from things in nature: going to a park, a mountaintop, or the ocean. Some get it from great works of art: the spiritual and religious paintings of the great masters, soaring sculptures, any art that seems to encourage us to try to improve ourselves. Others find it in reading: books that give specific spiritual instructions, novels that inspire us by their characters and actions, and biographies of those who have awakened. Still others are inspired only by people they actually know who have done great things. Most of us are inspired at times by all of these things. Whatever works for us, we should use it, especially when we are finding it difficult to stick with our program of spiritual development. So read those spiritual books, visit an art gallery and take a walk in the woods. Do whatever you have to to keep moving forward in your quest for enlightenment.
