Marriage has a number of symbolic meanings and when you find marriage mentioned in scripture, it is often intended to be interpreted symbolically. Generally, marriage symbolizes the joining of two thing, two forces, usually to bring about a third: the joining of male and female to bring about the birth of a child, the joining of positive and negative forces to generate creative forces, the joining of logic and emotions to bring about understanding in the physical world, the joining of the material mind and body with the spirit and soul to create a complete divine being.

    The marriage of the Lamb is symbolic of the uniting of the higher self and the lower self and the soul's awakening and joining with Wisdom, or the Heavenly beings.  A marriage within caste, as is often practiced in India, is symbolic of the spiritual energy centers uniting with matter to form a physical being.  Marriage can also represent a reconciliation as when a sinner repents and returns to the fold or the fallen angels repent and return to heaven.
    To dream of marriage indicates that you are ready to make a commitment. It can also mean that opposite aspects of yourself are ready to unite. It may also symbolize the the qualities you associate with the person you are marrying in a dream are qualities you need to adopt for yourself.
