Dealing With Problems
"Nothing troubles me. I offer no resistance to trouble - therefore it does not stay with me. On your side there is so much trouble. On mine there is no trouble at all. Come to my side.” ~Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
A lot of the problems we have in life occur because we unwittingly invite them into our lives. Our beliefs, our expectations and our fears. The person who fears poverty unconsciously does things that cause him to loose money. If you believe believe that you cannot be successful at what you dream of doing you are right! You are right because your belief is causing your failure. And if you believe that you need to be punished because of some poor behavior when you were young, even if that belief is buried deep in the subconscious, it can still cause you to get sick or injured. We can avoid many of these problems and difficulties by practicing mental discipline. First, we must become aware of the beliefs and fears that are holding us back and then make an effort to convince ourselves that they are not true or that they can be overcome.
