Random Thoughts 9-19-2010
Somebody should tell that guy in the Zegerid commercial that he might not have so much heartburn problems if he stopped painting pictures on his stomach.
The scientific community is starting to recognize that changes are taking place in the sun as we in The Community have known for years. Here is a brief excerpt from an article that appeared in the Washington Post a few months ago :
"The sun is under scrutiny as never before, thanks to an armada of space telescopes. The results they beam back are portraying our nearest star, and its influence on Earth, in a new light. Sunspots and other clues indicate that the sun's magnetic activity is diminishing and that the sun may even be shrinking. Together, the results hint that something profound is happening inside the sun. The big question is: What? "

Sorry, but I don't have a great deal of sympathy for the three young Americans who decide the border between Iraq and Iran would be a fun place to go hiking and get arrested as spies. What did they expect to happen?
Maybe they should name hurricanes after flowers instead of people. I can't imagine Daisy or Buttercup being dangerous storms.
On the other hand, we just knew Igor would be nasty.
