When you mention the End Times prophecies and 2012 predictions, most people start thinking of very negative things like war, famine, and disease that will kill millions, predictions that  many of the fish in the seas will die off, that many animals and plants will become extinct, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions.  And there is good reason for that: there are prophecies that say such things will happen, but there are also prophecies that say these things will lead us to a very positive, spiritual world where   "the wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them." (Isaiah 11:6)  Also, we need to remember that one reason for prophets predicting terrible events is so that we can take steps to prevent them and it is possible to prevent or minimize the negative events predicted by developing our spiritual side and helping and encouraging others to do the same.
