Psychic Gifts
A lot of people talk about psychic gifts like they are something you are born with, not something we develop. That is partially true, but not entirely. Some well-known psychics didn't develop their psychic abilities until they were in their twenties, thirties, even forties. Often, something traumatic like an accident or the death of a friend or family member triggers changes that result in awakening hidden psychic talents. In the case of Nostradamus, it was the death of his wife and son.
We don't have to be traumatized to develop psychic abilities though. In fact, we probably all show a little psychic abilities even as young kids without realizing it. I know I sometimes had dreams as a child that later came true, either literally or symbolically (prophetic dreams are almost always symbolic so you have to know how to interpret them). And dreams is not the only thing. I'm sure I'm not the only kid who sometimes had a sense of danger and looked up to see a mean dog approaching or had a sense that you were being watched and found that you were (sometimes you don't find anybody watching because it is a non-physical being, a demon or angel).
So how do you develop psychic abilities without getting traumatized? The short answer: practice. About two years ago I wrote several posts on this blog with details , but the general idea is just try doing it. If you think you might have the ability to predict the future, try it. Write down some predictions for events that will happen in the near future, and check to see how you do. Try moving a small object with your mind. Try predicting what is happening in another room. At first, you will miss most of the time, but if you do have some psychic abilities, they will surface and you will get better.
An important reminder: becoming psychic is NOT becoming spiritual. We have three bodies and exist on three levels: physical, psychic and spiritual. If we get too hung-up on the psychic level, our spiritual level will not develop as it should.
