Random Thoughts 8-15-2010
I'm amused at how many people are still sending trackback advertising out to blogs when virtually all blogging systems have been filtering them out for years, either by blocking them entirely, or not posting them until the blog owner allows it. Almost everyday I find from one to fifteen trackback ads—mostly for prescription drugs or pornography—have been sent to this blog where they go into a que and are automatically flagged as spam. I just hit the "Delete spam" button to get rid of them, but even if I don't, they never post. I've even had a few people recently try simply to type ads for various things into a comment box as if I'm going to actually post them.
I passed another milestone with this blog a few days ago. I have now published more then 300,000 words. I'll have some more statistics when I reach the third anniversary on September 3rd.
Congratulations to California for throwing out the bigoted proposition 8.

I choose love, joy and freedom, open my heart and allow wonderful things to flow into my life.

A woman in Florida was arrested when police went to her home because of a disturbing-the-peace call and found several open containers of gasoline in the house. The woman claimed it was just because she liked the smell of gas.
A guy in Washington state was arrested after branding "SK" on his three kids, ages 13 to 18, to identify them as his. At trial though, the kids defended him saying they agreed to it and thought the whole thing was cool and the jury was unable to convict him.
A woman in Arizona was arrested after police were called by her 11-year-old son and they witnessed her tell him and his 6-year-old brother that she was abandoning them to move to California with her boyfriend and become a professional stripper. Then, when the 11-year-old tried to hug her, she slugged him in the stomach.
A woman who was in the process of being arrested and handcuffed for disorderly conduct, pulled out her cell phone and called 911 to complain about it.
A women who was in jail for intoxication decided to make the police really happy with her by squirting one with milk from her breast.
