Changing the World

Motivational speakers and self-help gurus often tell people that if they don't like the world they are living in, they should change it.  That is good advise, but the question then becomes: "What do we change it to?"
If each of us decides on his/her own what the world should be, and then tries to change it to that personal ideal, we are going to have a mess of everyone doing things contrary to what others are doing.  ANd if you thing people don't have very different ideas of what the ideal world should be, just ask them what they think its like in heaven.  You will get responses like:

  • You don't have to do anything, just sit around
  • You play harp all day with the other angels
  • You can hunt and fish all day and the rivers are full of fish
  • You can eat whatever you want and not gain weight

And those are just a few examples.  So even if everyone's goal was to try to make Earth like Heaven, they would still be working at odds with each other, which is something known as the" Laurel & Hardy Effect" in the business world.
So if we are going to change the world to what it should be, there is only one answer:  we have to forget our own egotistical desires, listen to the Will of God, and follow God's plan to return this world back to it's original spirit state.
