They Would Agree
"If you put Buddha, Jesus Christ, Socrates, Shakespeare, Arjuna, Krishna at a dinner table together, I can't see them having an argument." ~ Hugh Jackman
An interesting statement coming from an actor. It's something you would expect to come from an advanced spiritual teacher because it is completely true and something all real spiritual teachers are aware of: what the great teachers taught is the same. Let me repeat that in case you still didn't get it: they all taught the same thing.
That is difficult to believe in today's world where the teachings of the great prophets and avatars have been modified, mistranslated, and added to so much by there followers and by politicians (especially Roman Caesars) that you can't even talk about Christian teachings or Buddhist Teachings or Jewish beliefs anymore because not all Christians or Buddhists or Jews or Muslims believe the same thing, let alone except the teaching of the other major religions. While the unimportant details such as how to dress in church or how a temple should be built differ, the actual, spiritual teachings of all of the great teachers is the same. And what they all taught, keeping it simple and basic, was that each of us needs to develop his soul and his spiritual side. That the soul requires just as much care, if not more, than the material body and mind, and that caring for the soul and spirit must be done now, in this world, not after we're dead. It's too late then.
