In His Image
According to Christian tradition and many other religions, we were created in "God's image". Everyone knows that, or at least everyone who believes in God, but what does it mean?
Some would say that all it means is that God created us by forming an image of us in His mind and doing that made us. That is certainly part of it, I don't think that can be denied, but I don't think that is all of it.
Many people today with their very physical and materialistic orientation think it means that God created our physical bodies to look like Him. This makes many thing that they must be perfect because they were created in God's image, but also that God looks and acts like a human. But God does not have a physical body at all. He is everywhere at all times. Those are not traits of the human body.
The only interpretation that makes sense is that God created our souls and Light spirits in his images. The soul and Light spirit are therefore connected to God, nourished by His Light, and preprogrammed, if I can use that modern term, to communicate with Him and obey his will. The physical body and mind, on the other hand, are more aligned with Satan and the other fallen angels, or demons, and are more prone to listen to and obey Satan's will.
That is why is is so important for each of us to awaken his soul (what Jesus really meant by being "born again") and nourish his soul and Light spirit with God's Light which, like all light, also carries information that is passed on to the soul (in the case of spiritual Light) or the mind (in the case of physical light).
