In the center of the kabbalistic tree of life is the node or sefirot named Tiferet.   Sefirot meaning a dimension or attribute, specifically, an attribute, or major aspect of God.  Tiferet means "beauty" but other names for this sefirot include:  the Spiritual Sun, Christ, the Light of the World, the Word of God, and the Holy Child.  Tiferet represent the "realized word" and the sacred unity of creation.  It is the Light that gives life to all things on Earth.  It is the source of Logos and Gnosis, at least from man's point of view, and gives knowledge, specifically, knowledge of God, angels, and the spiritual dimensions that existed long before the material ones and that will exist long after them as well.  A unique feature of Tiferet, as shown in the tree of life, is that it is directly connected to every other sefirot in the tree.  This should tell us that is is a very important sefirot.  It is the point of balance between the various energies, physical and spiritual.  And now that it has become the "Sun of Righteousness" as prophesized by Malachi at the end of the Old Testament, it is even more important and that is why we turn to the spiritual sun for enlightenment and spiritual energy.
