The Magnanimous Man
"It is the characteristic of the magnanimous man to ask no favor but to be ready to do kindness to others." ~Aristotle
We could say the same thing about the spiritual man or woman. Especially, a spiritual teacher. Spiritual people want to help others develop spiritually. Not because God will reward them for doing so. Not because they will make a lot of money by doing so. They do it out of love for all of mankind and out of the desire to see the entire world saved and our planet returned to it's original, spiritual state. That does not mean that a spiritual teacher must live in poverty, but it does mean we should be weary of a spiritual teacher who has a private jet and a fleet of luxury cars. Such excess is a strong indication that he is not really spiritual. Remember that Jesus, like all Essene teachers, required that his followers donate their money to the community bank in order to be excepted into the community.
