Random Thoughts 2-14-2010

I can somewhat understand the airlines charging for all the extras so you get what you pay for and don't pay for extras you don't want, but charging $8 to rent a blanket for a few hours!  And the so called blanket is really just a light throw that you could buy for $12.  That's like Rent-a-Center charging you $300 a day to rent a $400 TV.

The movie version of the book "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" is out this weekend.  I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did read the book last week (it's a quick read as it's aimed at a tween and teen audience).  I was happy to see that these books say that the Olympic gods are not truly gods, but are just  poweful beings that seem like gods to humans.  I would say they are actually descriptions of aspects of God or, in some cases, descriptions of fallen angels, but at least these books are not teaching that they are true gods.

A great new article on the Cosolargy blog by William Bartlett, a Buddhist Priest who is also a Deacon in the International Community of Christ.

Actually, another short video.  My neighborhood after the latest blizzard.

My street on Feb 10, 2010 or twenty dime as I call it in this video.

And if you don't want to pay those prices and bring your own throw blanket with you they'll charge you for carrying it on! It's crazy.

I don't think you will get charged if you have it in your carry-on, at least not yet, but with so many now stuffing everything they can into their carry-on, some airlines have been hinting that they will soon start charging a fee for them.
