A Price to Pay
In this materialistic world we live in, there is a price for everything. If something is said to be free, that really means the cost is something other than money. Most people understand this when it comes to material things, yet they often think that there should be no cost for spiritual development. In a sense, they are correct: you cannot buy your way into heaven or purchase spiritual enlightenment. Nonetheless, those things do have a cost. The cost is your dedication to God and the beings of Light who are trying to free this world from materialism, death and in general, from the clutches of Satan. You really can't achieve any significant degree of spiritual enlightenment without being dedicated to it. The idea that Jesus already did it so you can just ride on his coattails is simply not true and not what Jesus taught. He taught that we should follow him, do as he did, and we would be saved. That's far different from worshiping Him and letting Him do all the work.
