Wishing and Planning
Some people, including myself, often wish for things: "I wish I were younger", "I wish I were older", "I wish I was wealthy", "I wish I would win the lottery", etc. This even includes wishes they were spiritually enlightened in some cases. The problem with this is, when most people "wish" for something, they are essentially saying it is something they would like to have but don't really believe they ever will. Doing that practically guarantees that you won't get it.
Instead of simply wishing for something, you have to really think about what you want, decide which of these goals is most important to you, and plan how you are going to go about getting it. Granted, when it comes to spiritual enlightenment, only God decides when or if the Holy Spirit will descend upon you and enlighten you, but there is much that you can do to increase the likelihood that God will do that. The most important part of it is awakening the soul using the techniques or processes that have been used for thousands of years and passed on to initiates by enlightened and authorized teachers.
