Random Thoughts 1-3-2010

Another year gone by.  If you haven't already, we should all review our accomplishments, especially spiritual ones, for the past year so we know where we are now and what we need to do in the new year.

Actually, not just a year, but the first decade of the 21st century has gone by (assuming you start from 2000 like most people) and now the teens began.

An interesting new post on the new Cosolargy blog about the Edgar Cayce readings and their connection with Cosolargy.

Roger Weld has posted some great photos from Thanksgiving and Christmas on his Flickr photo album.

The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul. ~G. K. Chesterton

Ring out the old, ring in the new, Ring, happy bells, across the snow: The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true. ~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Two young adults in West Virginia were on parole and prohibited from possessing any firearms.  They showed up for a parole appointment after a day of hunting still wearing orange vests tipping the parole officer off to the fact that they had been using guns.

And another young man on parole in Texas for a child-sex conviction was barred from using any internet networking sites.  He was re-arrested when he sent a message via Twitter to a women he met at the parole office.

A 54 year old woman was arrested for possession when she called 911 to report that two guys stole her bag of pot.  Even funnier, this is only one of many calls people have made to police to report that someone took their illegal stash of drugs.

And we can't forget the dumbest hoax of 2009: The Heene family and the tale of the kid that got carried off by the giant jiffy-pop balloon.
