The people of Pompeii were blissfully enjoying their lives a day before, even an hour before Vesuvius blew and buried the city under ash and lava.  They had no warning.
    Today, scientists are studying ways to predict earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other types of natural disasters with the believe that they can save people if they can warn them in advance.  Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case.
    Prophets have warned us of the importance of developing our spiritual self before we die, but very few bother to do it.  Oh they may sit in a church for an hour or so each week and they may pray occasionally, but that isn't developing the spiritual self.  We have also been warned by numerous prophets in the Bible, in other scripture and modern prophets like Edgar Cayce that the end times are upon us and we need to prepare.  Few have listened.  Most people have taken the attitude that they will just wait and see what happens, then do something about it.  That will get them the same results as the people of Pompeii.
