You See what you Believe
What you see is often determined by your beliefs. This is especially true when you see something that is vague or unknown. Your brain will try to make it into something familiar and something you believe in. That is why certain types of Christians are always seeing Jesus or Mary in every rust spot or water stain that vaguely resembles a human head. That is why we see a human-like face on Mars. It is also why, when an advanced being, a Being of Light, appears to someone, the religious person will see an angel while the non-religious will see an alien. They are both seeing the same thing with their eyes, but the beliefs in their brain cause what they see to be interpreted very differently. Even if you ask for a detailed description, it will be very different because the details are being filled in by the brain so will be largely based on what you believe is possible.
