Getting Started

Writer's say that they often hear from fans statements that go something like:
"I want to be a writer too and once the kids have grown, I'll sit down and write a novel"
"When I retire, I will write that book of poetry that I know is in me"
"As soon as [fill in the blank] , I will write a great memoir"

Sadly, they almost never do it because when the kids have grow, or they retire, or whatever the excuse is, there is always another excuse ready and willing to jump in to take it's place.  So, writing instructors say, if you really mean it, drop the excuses NOW and start writing immediately, every day.

The same is true for spiritual development.  Too many people say they would like to get involved in spiritual growth and development but they have to wait until they are well established in their career, or until the kids have grown and moved away, or their hair turns gray, or whatever other excuse (there are many).  If you haven't already, you need to start now.  You don't have to quit your job and join a monastery.  Just start with a few minutes a day and grow into it.
