Back from Reno 2009

    I'm back home after attending the annual convocation in Reno.  The convocation went well.  The weather was great the whole week.  I feel like I received a lot of spiritual energy this year.  Hopefully, I will put it to good use.  One of the highlights was the Interfaith  Sunset Service for World Peace held at Redrock Consecrated Sanctuary  which was attended by ministers, priests and guests of many different Christian churches as well as Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and Native American.   You can find the event briefly mentioned in the Reno Gazette-Journal in the online version and I understand there was a larger story with photos in the printed version.
    Our sanctuary at Redrock is divided into two sections known simply as the North Sanctuary and the South Sanctuary.  The services are mostly at the South Sanctuary, but we also had a communion service at the North Sanctuary on Sunday.  Here is a photo I took there that will give you a good idea of how open and empty the mountainous desert area is:
