Creative Visualization and Time

One point I haven’t mentioned in my posts on creative visualization is how long to do it.  Most books and CDs recommend every day, or every other day, for three or four weeks, then about once a week for a booster.  While that may work for some, there are exceptions, just like with hypnosis.  There are basically three kinds of people when it come to hypnosis.
The first type gets hypnotized very easily, but it get easily undone.  For example, a hypnotic CD might convince such a person to quit smoking in a single session, but it’s effect will be reversed the next time he sees an ad for cigarettes. This type of person may only need two or three weeks initially, but require booster shots two or three times a week.
The second type is at the opposite end of the spectrum.  These people are very difficult to hypnotize, but once they are it sticks well.  This type may need five or six weeks before the visualization takes, but then only once or twice a month.
The third group is everyone else.  Those who can be hypnotized without much difficulty and are not easily un-hypnotized.  They should follow the three or four week plan.
Of course, whenever you find yourself slipping back to your old habits, do your visualization more frequently until you are back on track.  And don’t be afraid to ask God and the Beings of Light to give you strength.  It does help.
