On Prophets
Most of us admire prophets, both the ancient Biblical ones and modern prophets like Edgar Cayce. And is good that we admire them because they do a great service to humanity. But all of us have, to some extent, the ability to prophecise. That ability may be latent or weak and we need to help it get stronger. If you want to get big muscles, you go to the gym and work out a lot. If you want to be a good public speaker, you practice speaking a lot. Prophecy works much the same way: you need to practice.
First, you need to pay attention to your dreams. Write down or record a description of the dream when you wake up with as much detail as you can remember. The details are often important symbols. Then get a good dream dictionary to help interpret them. Unfortunately, the one we use in the International Community of Christ is only available to members, but that may change.
The other thing to do is practice trying to predict events before they happen. I prefer natural events to something like predicting lottery numbers. Try predicting which tropical storm will become a hurricane, when it will snow in your area, etc. To have any success with that, you have to go outdoors and observe nature. You may not know on a conscious level what your looking for, but on a deeper level you do and your spiritual eyes may see things happening on a spiritual level that you are not even aware of. At first, you will probably not do well with these predictions, but with practice you can get better. Most of us will not become great prophets by doing this, but you never know. There are probably a few potentially great prophets out in the world just waiting to be awakened.
