Sweep the impurities from my being and purify my spirit:
Grant me protection; grant me happiness;
Restore brightness to my soul and give me guidance.

I find the last line of this short prayer particularly interesting.  I guess the International Community of Christ is not the only church that recognizes the importance of spiritual Light in awakening and nourishing the soul.
