Miracles and Magic
Some Christian groups are very opposed to movies, television and books about magic. Books like Harry Potter and TV shows like The Charmed Ones are evil in their book. This is based on stories in the Bible about prophets of God defeating wizards and court magicians such as Moses defeating the Pharaoh's wizards when they turned their staffs into snakes. There are also some more direct references to witches and sorcerers being evil such as Exodus 22:18 and Lev 19:26.
I won't bother to get into the hypocrisy of those who are found of quoting Leviticus (a Jewish high priest who was fond of making strict rules for everyone to live by) while they themselves ignore ninety to ninety five percent of the rules Leviticus listed. What I wonder is how do they tell the difference between a holy man performing miracles through the grace of God and an evil magician? If you ask, they will probably say something like: "If the person is a servant of God it's a miracle, otherwise it's evil sorcery." The problem with that statement is how do you know who God has chosen to serve him? God can sometimes choose the most unlikely candidates to be in His service. So before you call someone evil for predicting the future or healing without drugs consider that just because he isn't wearing a cassock doesn't mean he can't be serving God, even if only on one occasion at God's choosing.
