Scripture: Proverbs 19:1-3
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good: and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way; and his heart fretteth against the Lord.
The poor, but honest man is better in the eyes of God than a wealthy person who lies and cheats.
But the soul needs knowledge in order for us to know what is right in the eyes of God. Not conventional knowledge from books or colleges but spiritual knowledge, gnosis.
Man does things that move him farther and farther from God, then complains that God doesn't speak to him. As the old saying goes, if God seems farther away than he used to be, who do you think moved? (hint: it isn't God).
