Have you ever worked at a job that was really boring?  Most of us have.  So what do you do about it?  One thing is to try to understand the importance of the job.  Just about all jobs are important, even if you don't realize it.  My first adult job was in a shoe factory.  A very boring job on an assembly line.  But if I simple remembered that it is important for people to have shoes, than it didn't seem so boring.  
    This is true of spiritual work also.  Sometimes it seems like some of the things our spiritual teacher tells us to do are boring and pointless but, like the things Mr Miyagi taught the Karate Kid, they are important, we just haven't learned why yet.  So remember when you get bored with your spiritual duties that they do serve a purpose, even if it's just to help you develop patience and discipline.
