A little blob of red paint next to a green blob.  It’s meaningless.  Just blobs of color.  But when an artist puts several hundred of them together on a canvas, a picture is formed.  The little blobs now mean something.

A single note from a bell, piano or guitar is just noise.  Put hundreds of notes from a variety of instruments together in the proper way and you have a symphony.

A radio telescope a mile wide would cost trillions to build but you get the same effect by setting up a matrix of many much smaller radio telescopes working together.

Such is the value of working together.  In business, it’s called synergy.  The idea of synergy is that two people working together to achieve something accomplish more than they do working separately.  This is even more true when it comes to spiritual growth and enlightenment.  Because our world has become so materialistic and egotistic, the person seeking spiritual development can easily become overwhelmed if operating alone, but can achieve a lot more when operating as part of a group.  That is why all great religious, philosophical and spiritual leaders formed groups.
